New Community Awarded
0New Community Church in Maple Valley has just been selected to receive the King County Executive’s award for exemplary achievement in historic preservation! This is a wonderful achievement for anyone, but especially one of our local churches. The Olson Mansion, extending grounds, and beautiful barn are well known fixtures in Maple Valley. The church will receive the award on May 15th. On their facebook page they say, “A special thanks to Curtis Lang our designer and general contractor, Jeff Potter our building and permitting consultant, Steve Hammer our architect, our building task force, staff, elders and everyone else who has given generously to make this possible.”
When asked about the process and how this renovation came about, representatives from the church had this to add, “When looking at the options of building a new building vs. renovating the barn we decided on renovation even though it was more expensive because of the history and the importance to the community.” Thank you New Community for your commitment to excellence, we appreciate it!
